Hailey turns 1 ~ Central Alberta Cake Smash

I remember when Hailey’s mom Lisa was pregnant. She was so cute and happy and so excited to be starting a family with her husband Sean! Every time I saw her I remember thinking “That is going to be one lucky baby!” On April 2nd, 2014 Hailey Dawn was born! Fast forward 12 months to her very first birthday!

Lisa contacted me quite a while ago to book this session. We’d been talking back and forth about times, locations and clothes to wear. After finally nailing down a solid plan, the never-ending winter springtime in Central Alberta decided to give us a dump of cold, wet, un-outdoor-photo-friendly snow. New plan! Indoor session it is! 

This little peanut was such a character! It took her a while to warm up to me and she really made me work for every little smile. And RUN! Holy smokes, this girl can move! Her parents were on constant herding duty! Lisa and Sean were on the move nearly as much as Hailey was!

Then she caught sight of her cake. One track mind! Lisa had made the cutest giant cupcake cake for Hailey’s birthday. I made sure to get a couple of shots before the birthday girl got her hands on it!

Once Hailey was put in front of this cake there was no hesitation! This poor cake never saw it coming! 

To me, there is nothing cuter than sweet toddler hands and feet all cakey and full of icing! The little chubby rolls and dimples all full of frosting! I love it! Hailey did not disappoint!
