Rustic Edmonton Engagement

I met up with Ryan and Leigh at their home just over a week ago to finally have their engagement photos taken! I say finally, but I really mean FINALLY! These beautiful people have been engaged for what feels like forever and we’ve been trying to schedule in our engagement session since the winter! Thank goodness we waited though because our location just outside of Edmonton on Ryan’s Aunt and Uncle’s acreage was green, beautiful and absolutely breathtaking! Old trucks, wagons, a lake, a barn…and cats, which you’ll see later! They were incredibly nervous about having their engagement photos taken. They had said so many times during our correspondence that they are always so awkward in front of the camera, always making faces, never looking good. I’m pretty sure you’re going to agree with me when I say these two knocked their session out of the ball park! We had so much fun, and so many laughs!

The Happy Couple

Both Ryan and Leigh are super hard workers and dedicated to their jobs. Leigh is actually the National Education Director for Esthetics Plus, in Edmonton, for years! Her schedule is all over the place because she flies all over Canada teaching other estheticians! Ryan is a Journeyman Iron Worker, so he works long hours too! Like tons of busy singles, they met online. They’ve been together ever since and now have two cute little fur babies and a home together!

The Upcoming Wedding

I’m so excited to get to be a part of The Big Day! Their wedding is going to be my second destination wedding to the beautiful island of……Newfoundland! Don’t laugh! Leigh grew up just outside of St. John’s and Ryan wants to be a newfie! Like, he’s dying to be one!! It’s too funny! So they thought they’d get married down home and have a big adventure and party! The wedding itself is taking place at the Gypsy Tea Room with numerous functions and activities (all Newfoundlandy stuff!) for the out of province guests to enjoy on their visit! They’ve arranged a whale tour, from O’Brien’s Whale and Bird Tour down in Bay Bulls. Leigh’s family is hosting an East Meets West BBQ for all Leigh’s Newfoundland family and friends to meet Ryan’s family and friends from the mainland! It’s going to be a time to say the least!!

As you can tell from taking a look through their session, Ryan and Leigh don’t take themselves seriously at all! When I said before that we had a ton of laughs, it was so true! Here’s a few “out takes” so you can see what I mean 🙂  I seriously can not wait until next month to spend some more time with them!
