Downtown Couples Session

These two! This location! The light! The stars aligned for this beautiful couples session!

The Story

Katie and Brendon were separated all summer with Brendon studying abroad in China. He was completely immersed in the Chinese culture through a special program offered by the University of Alberta, where he is studying the language! He spent 5 long weeks away from the home he and Katie share, from their precious little fur baby and his family. Katie filled her days with working at an Edmonton law firm, exploring the city and all it has to offer in summer. We dreamed up this couples session while he was away so that they could really just take a few minutes and enjoy each other once he returned. To freeze those moments and really make them last!

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and as witness to this, I have to tell you…there was no shortage of fondness on the evening of our shoot. Brandon had to tear his eyes away from Katie! It was so sweet! He just didn’t want to let her go, just wanted her to be close to him. And Katie, she just shone with happiness! The soft evening light had little to do with her glow, it just came from inside her. Pure happiness at being reunited!

We explored the Alberta Legislature grounds together, dodged Pokemon Go players, an obedience class for dogs and their owners and found some really pretty nooks and crannies I’d never seen before! That being said, we could have been in a gravel pit as far as these two were concerned! The location was really just the cherry on top, they’re the ice cream and all the good stuff that actually matters!
