Pine Lake Engagement Photos

When I met with Jacqueline and Josh at Pine Lake for their engagement photos, I knew I was in for a super great night! They toured me around Josh’s grandparents farm and entertained my with stories from their childhoods, little snippets of their life together, and of course, the story of them!

Jacqueline and Josh met in grade 11 when their mutual best friends decided to go out on a date. You know how that works when you’re in high school right? Their friends couldn’t just go out by themselves, so Josh went along to play wingman and Jacqueline the same for her girlfriend! Unfortunately nothing came out of the double date that night, but a year later, in 12th grade, they reconnected. On a group date to a haunted house around Halloween time they got stuck towards the back of the pack together and started talking. Talking turned into hanging out, which eventually after a few months, that turned into Josh asking Jacqueline to be his girlfriend!

The Proposal

Josh took a lot of time to brainstorm how he could surprise Jacqueline with his proposal. It started with his very best friend Tim visiting from Toronto for the Big Valley Jamboree. They put their heads together and came up with a  plan to go camping for a few days to have some male bonding time. They had asked Jacqueline and pal Marissa to come and spend the day with them. When the girls arrived at Ram Falls an hour earlier than expected, the boys weren’t ready. When they finally did emerge from their trailer, they were dressed up…in dress clothes. Jacqueline says it’s not unusual for Josh to act kinda silly, so she really thought nothing of his fancy hiking attire! Tim suggests they take some photos of the four of them on the hike and ‘conveniently’ Marissa remembers she has a pair of sundresses in the back of the car!! Still, no bells went off for Jacqueline!

Shortly after leaving the campsite on their hike, Marissa and Tim disappear. Jacqueline finds herself standing in front of the most beautiful view of a waterfall and suddenly it happens! Josh looks at her and says it’s time for a new ring, slides the promise ring he’d given her off her finger and gets down on his knee!! Mission accomplished Josh! Jacqueline was so shocked and surprised all she could say was Do my parents know??

They turned around and found their disappearing friends taking photos of their engagement and tearing up with happiness!
