This navy blue and burgundy Saskatchewan wedding was full of so many great moments! After meeting both MaryAnne and Jordan while photographing Jordan’s sister’s wedding a few years earlier in Eatonia, they invited me along for a day full of family, friends and fun!
So in case you didn’t know (but if you weren’t there…you wouldn’t know right?) Maryanne and Jordan did things a little differently. They chose to have a first look, then an intimate ceremony at the farm, followed by photos and then a second ceremony. Instead of following tradition, they inserted speeches throughout the second ceremony and that was sooooo much fun! After that part of the evening came the party, but you’ll see that in a minute!
We met at the Eatonia Bullarama. I (Maryanne) was having a conversation with someone else, but Jordan just butted right in. The rest is history and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him since.
Jordan really wanted to propose on the Saturday at his grandpa’s farm yard, but it had just recently rained so it was too muddy to get to. We went to Saskatoon for the weekend and he was being really nice and kept asking to go for walks around the river – but at 10 pm at night I didn’t think that was a good idea! When we got home on the Monday it had dried up enough that we were able to get to the yard. Jordan’s excuse that he was to check on some scrap metal that was suppose to have been picked up, but I could really care less. When I didn’t get out of the truck he had to coax me out by asking where I wanted to put our future home someday. Before I knew it, I turned around and he was on his knee!
My most favorite moment was the speeches at our evening ceremony. Jordan got absolutely ROASTED! But each toaster threw in a joke or two about themselves, so it was pretty well rounded. We laughed, we cried, we laughed so hard we cried. I also loved our evening ceremony that incorporated parts of a traditional ceremony, but also the toasts.
Speechless. Then – “woah man, you’re gorgeous. “
Quit worrying! Your friends, family and community members will all make sure it goes off without a hitch, so you should try your hardest to eliminate that pressure from yourself. It’s tough to just leave everything up to the Universe, but some things you just have to let it flow on their own.
This next one is probably one of my faves from the reception 😂 Jordan’s dad Troy and his mom Karen are just hilarious!
There’s nothing like a Prairie Sunset to give the perfect day the perfect ending!
Maryanne and Jordan thank you so much for including me in your day! I wish you all the happiness in the world!
