On February 18th, the small town of Castor, Alberta welcomed the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni hockey team! This charity hockey game was organized as a fundraiser for the Town of Castor’s arena, lovingly referred to as The Beaverdome. The sold out game was a major success and Castor Minor Sports was pleased to announce that this event raised a whopping $30,000 to contribute to the arena renovations and upgrades!

Before the main event of the night, the Alumni Game….the Toronto Maple Leafs Alum took on our own Castor Atom Cyclones!
The introductions, with a fog machine and lights, got everyone off to a roaring start! “Don Cherry” even made an appearance!
The talented Sherry Weeks sang O’Canada and then Castor Mayor Richard Elhard dropped the first puck!
Grins all around!
The Alumni Game – the main event! Our home town players warmed up and got some advice from some of the Alumni players.
Trevor Kidd at the ready….or is he? Minnie scored for Castor after this so maybe he should have been a little more ready😉
Cue the applause! Yay Mannie!!
First to score against the Alum got a surprise!
Coaches Corner during the intermission entertained everyone! Leo and Dwayne thanks so much!
This penalty shot was off to a good start….at least he’s having a good time!
The ref’s were offered a payoff….and it looks like it was accepted!
Our Castor team played their hearts out and enjoyed every single second of their playing time!!
Thanks to every single individual and sponsor that was a part of this amazing event! Our community loves its rink!
