My very first wedding season started out this year on such a beautiful intimate day. This day was exactly what Krista and Jesse wanted it to be~ about the family they have created and the families that have supported them on their journey together.
Krista and Jesse started dating 10 years ago to the day they were married! Talk about a beautiful anniversary gift to give each other. So symbolic. They decided to get married in front of a stone fireplace in their home at their family farm, Battle Boar Farms. Their children Brook and Hunter walked their mom down the hallway to meet their dad. It was so cute! In addition to the couples’ two beautiful children, the guests included the Bride’s best friend, Ashley, and the Groom’s sister Leila and her husband Nolan. And the Marriage Commisioner. And Cindy, my second shooter for the day, and I. That’s it! So intimate and heartfelt.
After the ceremony the newlyweds spent some time with us trying to outrun the rain for their portraits. Isn’t rain on your wedding day good luck!?!? They were so relaxed and so happy! Krista and I had driven around one day before the wedding so she could show me some of the land around her neck of the woods. The locations did not disappoint! We had a great time together. I’m sure at one point Jesse told us having photos taken wasn’t a great way to spend his spare time…but that having us there taking them was making the experience a lot more fun 🙂 Yay! Success!
Krista and Jesse held their reception and meal at the Halkirk Community Hall where they welcomed the rest of their family to celebrate with them. The team at A Wylie Wedding completely outdid themselves by transforming this place into something that amazed us all! The decor was beautiful and so exactly what Krista and Jesse wanted. Rustic. Country. Warm. Inviting. The details were amazing! Because this celebration was all about the happy couple and everything they love, their families were invited to visit, enjoy each other and play some good old fashioned games to entertain themselves while waiting for the meal.
When you farm your own hogs, it’s only fitting to have a meal to showcase that beautiful meat. Here’s where Krista and Jesse’s friends, Cheryl and Steve, come in. They prepared the best pulled pork I’ve ever tasted! And salads too! So good! They also had smokies, again from their own hogs, on the menu. To top it all off, Krista’s grandmother made her famous carrot cake for dessert. Ohmygosh. I almost died! Anyone who knows me at all knows that I live to eat cake enjoy cake…you guys…I almost couldn’t finish it. *almost!
Thanks so much Krista and Jesse for allowing us into your home and your celebration of each other! I wish you every happiness the world has to offer!
