Back in January, Grant and I took our kids to Disneyland for a week! We had a great time and spent the whole week together—like the WHOLE week. Lol, that never happens! Normally one of us has a commitment or other matter to tend to, so this vacation was a treat! We stayed at the Courtyard Anaheim and we were so spoiled. The kids were able to have the pool area pretty much to themselves since it was a little cooler than most Californians like (around 18-21 degrees Celsius). There was a few different water slides, a water park just for kids, pool and hot tub (for mom and dad). The walk to the park wasn’t very long for a seven year old and a 4 year old, about 9 minutes from the front of our hotel to the gates of the park! We truly had such a great time and enjoyed each other so much!
The kids did a happy dance just inside the gates 🙂
If you’ve talked to our daughter, Summer, you already know that the spinning teacups are her absolute favourite thing in the world. I lasted the first round on these before dizziness kicked in. Lol, these troopers and their dad must have gone on 4 times in a row each day easily.
During the week the lineups weren’t that bad, up to a 15 minute wait for the popular rides. We did go to the park on Martin Luther King, Jr Day and there was easily triple the lineups and wait times.
Brody really wanted to go on Peter Pan’s Flight. So badly. This was probably one of the longest line ups for us and we waited almost 45 minutes…poor guy just wouldn’t give up lol.
If you know Grant, you know he hates crowds, so he was less than excited to be at Disneyland lol but very happy to be with us 🙂
This is one of the only photos that I made it into! Being a professional photographer, with a professional grade camera, set up the way I shoot weddings proved to be quite the challenge for Grant. Haha…if you thought he was annoyed at the crowds, you should have seen him while I tried to explain ‘back button focus’ to him 🙂
Parades = Crowds right? He stood way back from all the people and kept himself amused! Best. Guy. Ever. He also wins the award for cutest chins ;P
Summer and Brody were so excited to see all the characters and dance along to the music, they wouldn’t even turn around for a photo.
The last day of our vacation was spent at California Adventure. It was a little chilly and foggy, not a lot of other people around. (Grant was soon happy) The kids were able to walk onto pretty much any ride or attraction their little hearts desired!
The fog started to burn off and the sun came out long enough for Grant to convince the kids to ride Grizzly River Run. TWICE! In a row! The had the best time and talked about it all night!
We also spent some time exploring Downtown Disney and enjoyed some goodies from Marceline’s.
We also decided before we left home that we were going to hire another photographer to come to Disneyland and photograph our family together. (Remember when I tried to teach Grant to use my camera?? This was a great choice for us!) The talented Katie McGihon from Palm Springs came and met us and spent some time walk with us, following us around and just having a great time with us!
Raelene, I just went on a free trip to Disneyland viewing your absolutely spectacular photos! They, and you, are so beautiful! So happy you all had a great time. Glad you got in front of the camera for awhile too! Lovely lovely, the colors are so clear.
