Esther and Craig were married on April 16th, 2016 in Erskine with their reception in Stettler, at the Community Hall.
The girls gathered on Main Street in Stettler, at Pinned Up to get fancied up. There the girls painted their nails, chatted with Esther’s mom and Grandma and bubbled over the excited bride! Becky did a beautiful job on Esther’s undo and educated the bridesmaids on how to place Esther’s birdcage headpiece back at the Church.
Esther sat and gathered her thoughts, write a little letter to Craig to accompany a special gift she’d gotten him, amongst the craziness that happens on Wedding Day Morning! Her mother looked on with a smile on her face, so happy for her daughter.
The boys were also getting ready in Stettler, at Esther’s parents house. Craig enjoyed some downtime with his groomsmen and took his time getting ready for the day. When Esther’s gift arrived, a beautifully engraved pocket watch, he was in awe!
The groom and groomsmen arrived at the Erskine Church while Esther and her bridesmaids finished their preparations before the ceremony. Craig’s mother pinned his boutonniere on and hugged her son. Esther’s mother and grandmother helped her into her dress, they squeezed her tight in a hug. Her bridesmaids surrounded her in a prayer circle, holding onto each other. This was it. The time had come.
The ceremony was beautiful. Craig led his parents to their seats, then walked with his groomsmen to the front of the church. He watched while first the many flower girls, then the bridesmaids, until finally his bride and her father walked down the aisle. Together, Craig and Esther stood before God and vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives. They preformed a foot washing ceremony to symbolize that they are equals in their marriage. Esther fist pumped while Craig kissed his bride!
The reception took place at the Stettler Community Hall. Craig and Esther chose the theme of their wedding to be ‘Anchored In Love’. The talented Wylie ladies from Today’s Sweet Weddings had decorated the hall with many nautical touches, anchors, seaweed, dulse, netting and seaglass coloured bottles. Klay the DJ provided a great mix of music and a super fun Photo Booth for the bride and groom’s guests! Esther’s former high school Foods teacher catered a wonderful meal and her mother, owner of Ben and Simon’s Pie Shop, supplied the dessert- cupcakes and cookies! The guests listen to wonderful speeches, special verses and advice. The dance floor was filled with guests enjoying themselves and little kids showing off their cool moves!
Craig and Esther, I am so over the moon happy for you both! I wish you the happiest, healthiest years to come ????
