When I met with Brett and Jolene at Brett’s parents’ house in Castor to talk about their upcoming wedding, I knew I’d have a blast working with them! Their sense of humour with each other is contagious, just like Jolene’s smile and Brett’s laugh! While talking about how they got engaged, Jolene told me at the top of a mountain where they were having a packed lunch (they’re outdoorsy like that!) Brett took a big ‘ol jar out of his backpack. In the jar were slips of paper where he’d written all the reasons he loves her! The very last slip asked her to marry him! Saaaaaa-Woooon!! Of course, sitting around the kitchen island with the sound of ‘awwwwwwww’ is enough to make any guy squirm a little…But come on!
Their engagement session started on a golf course, where the three of us crammed into a golf cart and set out on an adventure! This cute couple enjoys golfing together…Or attempting to beat each other is maybe more accurate! Their funny quips at each other and retelling of how certain games and holes had gone in the past had me in stitches!
I mean, if you can survive a golf game with a competitive fiancé…marriage should be a piece of cake right?
You can tell from the genuine expressions how much these two actually enjoy each others’ company! I’m so excited to be a part of their upcoming wedding next summer!!
The evening was so smokey but for about 10 minutes, there was this little bit of golden light and a pretty sunset that we literally chased! We ran to the vehicle and drove to the edge of town where we could take advantage of it!! It was so worth it!!
Jolene and Brett- thanks for choosing me and thank you for being yourselves and letting me get to know you a little better!! ❤️
If you’re recently engaged and planning a wedding and you like running shoes more than you like heels, nachos and beer over nightclubs or you wish that cake could be considered a food group of it’s own, then I’m your girl! I’m currently booking weddings and engagements for the 2018 wedding season! While I’m based in Red Deer, Alberta, I travel all over! And the best part is….there are NO TRAVEL FEES for Alberta weddings!
