The first day of Spring always brings such a great feeling! Then add in a sweet Spring engagement session, an awesome couple, great senses of humour and the beautiful outdoor backdrop of Circle Square Ranch just outside of Halkirk about 45 minutes from Stettler, Alberta.

Amanda’s sweet nature and Blair’s off the cuff sarcasm made the session fly by! We laughed a lot, walked a lot, talked a lot! Getting to know them a little more was so great as I’ll be taking a trip to Amanda’s hometown in Saskatchewan to photograph their wedding in October.

The Proposal

I love hearing the story of how Blair proposed (with a video from his little niece and nephew)! They’re avid football fans (GO SEAHAWKS!) and love going to smaller venues in Edmonton and listening to great bands play great music. They also love their families. Blair’s niece and nephew (the proposer’s) were waiting for them back at the house when we finished up our session and the first thing Blair did after getting out of the truck was head to the window to peek in at them! They visit Blair’s parents often in Halkirk where Amanda gets to baby the family dog and are travelling to Saskatchewan for the Easter long weekend to see Amanda’s family. Both growing up in small towns, they hope one day to make their home outside of the city too.
